Chris Lutz
Science InstructorBeing the newest member of the SSLC team, I am honored to be a part of such an innovative, supportive and cohesive staff. My name is Chris Lutz and although I am new to SSLC I am a veteran in science education. I received my Bachelor of Science from NMSU in 1985 in secondary education with a major field of study in Biology. I taught Biology, AP Biology, Anatomy and Physiology and did graduate work in the Phoenix area. When my second child was born I returned to my beautiful hometown of Albuquerque. I spent the next few years in what I consider to be my greatest educational experience; raising my own children. I returned to the classroom 2004 and have been there ever since.
As a science educator I believe that we are integrally connected to our natural world. My goal is to help SSLC students deeply understand science concepts to develop a greater and understanding and love of the world that surrounds us. Only with greater understanding of scientific processes can we fully appreciate the beauty nature. As Albert Einstein said, “Our task must be to free ourselves by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature and its beauty.”
