Southwest Secondary - Curriculum & Schedule

Course graduation requirements are directed according to the New Mexico State Board of Education rulings and regulations. The high school academic program of studies for each course will satisfy the New Mexico Content Standards and Benchmarks in the following courses of study:

A. Language Arts - 4 Units
English 9
English 10
English 11
English 12

Advanced placement courses also available.

B. Social Studies - 4.5/5 Units
Economics - 1/2 Unit
Government - 1 Unit
World Geography - 1 Unit
US History - 1 Unit
World History - 1 Unit
New Mexico History - 1/2 Unit (Required for Freshman 2005-2006)

C. Mathematics - 3 Units (4 units required for Freshman 2009-2010)
Algebra I - 1 Unit
Geometry - 1 Unit
Algebra II - 1 Unit
Trigonometry - 1 Unit
Pre-Calculus - 1 Unit

Math Analysis - 1 Unit
