Doug Gillis

6th Grade Instructor
I team teach sixth grade with JaLynn Trepanier. She is responsible for the language arts and social studies sections, while I cover the math and science. I also teach the arts program during our “Friday Rotations” where students have visual arts, music and technology classes.

I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Design from Ohio State University and earned a Teacher License from the University of New Mexico. I have taught a variety of classes during my career from traditional elementary to technology, fine arts and gifted classes.

I use the Harcourt Brace Textbooks as a basis for a rigorous sixth grade math and science program. These texts and supplementary materials have provided a solid foundation for students and allowed them to consistently exceed state standards.
