On Wednesday, December 16, 2009 Southwest Primary, La Luz Del Monte, and Southwest Secondary Learning Centers were granted a hearing before the Public Education Commission regarding the renewal of all three school’s charters. We are excited and proud to announce that all three school’s charters were renewed for an additional five year term. We want to thank the 103 parents who offered to testify on behalf of the schools at the hearing. Your support of us and your trust in our educational staff is heartwarming and greatly appreciated. In the end, no parental testimony was required and all three schools passed with unanimous votes! The biggest change that students and parents will notice is that effective July 1, 2010, La Luz Del Monte’s name will officially be changed to the “Southwest Intermediate Learning Center”.
