Eighteen New Mexico Schools were honored today by the Public Education Department
for outstanding or improving math and science scores.
One group of schools was honored for outstanding math or science scores on the New Mexico Standards Based Assessment. A second group was honored for the greatest one year gains on the test.
“Congratulations to the students and teachers behind this academic progress,” Secretary of Education Dr. Veronica C. García said. “A stronger foundation in math and science is crucial for our students, and our state, to compete for high-quality jobs in the global economy.”
The following schools were honored on February 24th:
• Southwest Primary Learning Center, Albuquerque
• The Family School, Albuquerque
• San Antonito Elementary School, Sandia Park
• La Cueva High School, Albuquerque
• Twenty-First Century Public Academy, Albuquerque
• Animas Middle School, Animas
• Roselawn Elementary School, Artesia
• Bluewater Elementary School, Bluewater
• Chama Middle School, Chama
• Cloudcroft Middle School, Cloudcroft
• Red River Valley Charter School, Red River
• Sidney Gutierrez Middle School, Roswell
• Taos Municipal Charter School, Taos
• Texico High School, Texico
• Tohatchi Elementary School, Tohatchi
• Velarde Elementary School, Velarde
• Union Elementary School, Las Vegas
• West Las Vegas Family Partnership, Las Vegas
