Pre-Leg is February 16 in Santa Fe
Model Legislature is April 10-12 in Santa Fe.


Sponsored by the YMCA, Youth & Government promotes an educational opportunity for students to learn how the New Mexico Legislature works. Students participate in a Model Legislature run by students from across the state.

SSLC received the highest honor in 2005 by being named "Best Delegation."

Branches of YMCA Youth & Government
Executive Students work with YMCA Youth Governor in planning the event and reviewing bills
Legislature Students write bills and debate in the House and Senate
Supreme Court Students write briefs and present them before judges in an appellate court
Forum Students research and debate a topic resulting in a bill presented at the end of the session
Newspaper Students write for The Delegate's Daily which is distributed daily during the session.
Video Students cover events and present a video at the end of the session
